DARTS SPREAD BETTING

Darts spread betting is a way of betting on a 'spread' or prediction of outcomes to happen in a match.

Step 1: Choose a spread market on a match. E.g. the 'spread' on Total Legs may be 7.4-7.8.
Step 2: Decide if you think the final outcome will be higher or lower than the spread.
Step 3: If higher (e.g. more than 7.8) you would buy. If lower (less than 7.4 minutes) you would sell.
Step 4: Your profit or loss depends on the difference between your buy or sell level and the final outcome, multiplied by your stake.

HOW TO PLACE A DARTS SPREAD BET

To place a darts spread bet, look at the Spreadex prediction or spread on the market in question.

If you think the outcome will be higher than our price, then you would buy on the spread.

If you think the outcome will be lower than our price, then you would sell on the spread.

The more right you are the more you can win, but the opposite is the case if you get it wrong, as you may lose more than your initial stake.

DARTS SPREAD BETTING ‘BUY’ EXAMPLE

It’s the final of the World Championship at Alexandra Palace, and you are expecting a lot of 180s, so take a look at Spreadex’s Total 180s spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Total 180s spread of 7.2-7.7. You buy £50 at 7.7. It’s a thrilling final, and there ends up being 10 180s in total, leaving you with a profit of £115 ((10 – 7.7) x £50).

Even if there were only 8 180s in total, you would still finish with a profit of £15 ((8 – 7.7) x £50).

However, if there were 6 180s in total, you would suffer a loss of £85 ((6 – 7.7) x £50).

DARTS SPREAD BETTING ‘SELL’ EXAMPLE

It is the 1st round of UK Open, and you aren’t expecting too many 180s, so you take a look at Spreadex’s Total 180s spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Total 180s spread of 6.3-6.7. You sell £50 at 6.3. In the end, there are only 4 180s, leaving you with a profit of £115 ((6.3 – 4) x £50).

Even if there were 6 180s in total, you would still come away with a profit of £15 ((6.3 – 6) x £50).

However, if there were a shock 9 total 180s, you would incur a loss of £135 ((3.3 – 9) x £50).

IN-PLAY DARTS SPREAD BETTING

In-play darts bets allow you to open or close bets at any point in any leg, meaning you can close out of your bets early either to take profits or to cut losses.

DARTS SUPREMACY BETS

Leg Supremacy: The winning margin, in legs, that one player beats the other player by in a particular match. For example, Spreadex may quote Player A’s Leg Supremacy at 2.4-2.6 over Player B. If Player A wins 6-2, then the market would make-up at 4.

10-3 Supremacy: This is a supremacy spread where the winner receives 10 points, plus a further 3 points per every leg won by.

DARTS INDEX BETS

Outright Index: For major tournaments, Spreadxex will offer Outright Index spreads for the competition as a whole. That’s where 50 points are awarded to the winner, 30 points to the runner-up, 20 points per beaten semi-finalist and 10 points per beaten quarter-finalist.

25-0 Index: This is an index spread offered for individual matches, where the winner would receive 25 points and the loser 0.

DARTS CHECKOUT SPREADS

Highest Match Checkout: This is simply the highest checkout in a match. For example, if Spreadex offered a Highest Checkout spread of 131-134, you would buy at 134 if you thought the highest checkout would be greater than 134, and sell if you thought it would be lower than 131.

Spreadex also offers Highest Checkout prices for individual players, alongside for each leg in a match.

Highest Checkout x Total 180s: This market can sometimes produce very large make-ups, as it is the Highest Checkout in a match multiplied by the Total 180s in a match.

Checkout Ton-Ups: The total number of points scored over 100 in all the checkouts in the match. So if a player checks out with a 170 then that contributes 70 to the market. If a player checkouts on 32, then that adds nothing to the market.

That means if the checkouts in a match are 32, 170, 120, 40 and 80 then the checkout ton ups make up is 20 + 70 = 90.

Checkout Ton or Bust: This is the aggregate of all checkouts over 100 in a match. If a player checks out with a 170 then that contributed 170 to the market, but a checkout of 80 does not contribute anything to the market.

For example, if the checkouts are 32, 170, 120, 40 and 80, the checkout ton or bust makes up is 170 + 120 = 290.

DARTS LEGS SPREADS

Total Legs: This is the number of total legs in a match. For example, Spreadex is offering a Total Legs spread of 7.4-7.8.

If you think there will be more than 8 legs in the match, you would buy at 7.8. However, if you think there will be fewer than 8 legs in the match, you would sell at 7.4.

Player Legs: This is the number of legs won by an individual player, rather than the total legs across a match.

Multi Legs: The number of legs won by Player A multiplied by the number of legs won by Player B.

DARTS 180s SPREADS

Total 180s: The total number of 180s scored in a match.

Total Player 180s: The number of 180s scored by the named player, rather than the total 180s across a match.

Multi 180s: The number of 180s scored by Player A multiplied by the number of 180s scored by Player B.

OTHER DARTS BETS

Total Missed Doubles: The total number of Missed Doubles in a match.
