HOW TO PLACE AN F1 SPREAD BET

To place an F1 spread bet, look at the Spreadex prediction or spread on the market in question.

If you think the outcome will be higher than our price, then you would buy on the spread.

If you think the outcome will be lower than our price, then you would sell on the spread.

The more right you are the more you can win, but the opposite is the case if you get it wrong, as you may lose more than your initial stake.

F1 SPREAD BETTING ‘BUY’ EXAMPLE

It’s the morning of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and you think Driver A is going to be atop the podium by the end of the race, so take a look at Spreadex’s Race Index spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Driver A Race Index spread of 67-72, where 100 points are awarded for 1st place, 80 points for 2nd place, 60 points for 3rd, 40 for 4th, 30 for 5th, 25 for 6th, 20 for 7th, 15 for 8th, 10 for 9th and 5 for 10th.

You buy £5 at 72. Driver A indeed ends up speeding to victory, leaving you with a profit of £140 ((100 – 72) x £5).

Say, instead, Driver A finishes in 2nd place. You would still come away with a profit of £40 ((80 – 72) x £5).

However, if Driver A came in 3rd place, you would incur a loss of £60 ((60 – 72) x £5).

F1 SPREAD BETTING ‘SELL’ EXAMPLE

It is the evening before the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring, and you don’t fancy the favourite’s chances, so take a look at Spreadex’s Race Index spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Driver A Race Index spread of 74-79. You choose to sell £5 at 74. They end up missing the podium entirely, finishing in 4th place. That leaves you with a profit of £170 ((74 – 40) x £5).

Even if they made the podium, and came in 3rd, you would make a profit of £70 ((74 – 60) x £5).

Alternatively, Driver A wins the race. That would leave you with a loss of £130 ((74 – 100) x £5).

F1 INDEX SPREADS

Drivers’ Championship Index: This is a long-term spread on the entire F1 season, where a driver is awarded 60 points for winning the Championship, 40 for finishing 2nd, 30 for 3rd, 20 for 4th, 10 for 5th and 5 for 6th.

Constructors’ Championship Index: This is a long-term spread on the entire F1 season, where a constructor is awarded 50 points for winning the Championship, 30 for finishing 2nd, 20 for finishing 3rd and 10 for finishing 4th.

Race Index: This is a spread on how a driver will perform in an individual Grand Prix, based on: 100 points for 1st place, 80 points for 2nd place, 60 points for 3rd, 40 for 4th, 30 for 5th, 25 for 6th, 20 for 7th, 15 for 8th, 10 for 9th and 5 for 10th.

Qualifying Index: This is a spread on how a driver will perform in qualifying for an individual Grand Prix, where it is 25 points for the named driver qualifying in pole, 10 for 2nd and 5 for 3rd.

Live Index: This is an in-play index spread during the race where 25 points are awarded for 1st place, 10 points for 2nd place and 5 points for 3rd.

F1 MATCHBET AND NUMBERS MARKETS

Matchbets: A Race Matchbet pits two drivers against each other. Whoever comes in front of the other gets 10 points, plus a further 2 points for each official position they finish ahead of their rival.

For example, Spreadex is offering a Driver A/Driver B Matchbet of 6-9. Driver A ends up winning the race, while Driver B finishes in 10th place. That means the make-up would be 10 + (10 – 1)*2 = 28.

If you have bought at that aforementioned Driver A/Driver B Matchbet of 6-9, you would have won 19 times your initial stake (28 – 9 = 19).

Race Winner’s Number: This is simply the car number of the winner of a specific Grand Prix.

Podium Car Numbers: This is the aggregate of the car numbers of the 3 drivers to finish in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Number of Classified Finishers: This is the number of classified finishers by the end of a Grand Prix.
