Cambridge/Oxford 10-3 Supremacy: This is a supremacy spread where the winner of the Boat Race gets 10 points plus a further 3 points for every length won by.

Cambridge/Oxford Supremacy: This is a supremacy spread based upon the predicted winning margin, in lengths, by which one team will beat another.

Winning Distance: The number of lengths the Boat Race is won by.

On the morning of the Boat Race you think Cambridge is going to dominate Oxford, so take a look at Spreadex’s 10-3 Supremacy spread betting market. That is where the winner is awarded 10 points plus a further 3 points per length won by.

Spreadex is offering a Cambridge/Oxford Supremacy spread of 9-12. You buy £5 at 12. Cambridge then trounce Oxford by 11 lengths, leaving you with a profit of £155 ((43 – 12) x £5).

Even if, say, Cambridge only with by 2 lengths, you would still make a profit of £20 ((16 – 12) x £5).

However, if Oxford instead won by 3 lengths, the 10-3 Supremacy make-up would be -19. That would leave you with a loss of £155 ((-19 – 12) x £5).

However, if Cambridge were to win by 5 lengths, you would suffer a loss of £85 ((8 – 25) x £5).
