HOW TO PLACE A SNOOKER SPREAD BET

To place a snooker spread bet, look at the Spreadex prediction or spread on the market in question.

If you think the outcome will be higher than our price, then you would buy on the spread.

If you think the outcome will be lower than our price, then you would sell on the spread.

The more right you are the more you can win, but the opposite is the case if you get it wrong, as you may lose more than your initial stake.

SNOOKER SPREAD BETTING ‘BUY’ EXAMPLE

It is the start of the World Championship at the Crucible, and you fancy the chances of Player A, so take a look at Spreadex’s Outright Index spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Player A Outright Index spread of 28-31. That’s where the winner receives 100 points, the runner-up 60 points, losing semi-finalists 40 points, the losing quarter-finalists 20 points and the losing last-16ers 10 points.

You decide to buy £2 at 31. Player A ends up winning the whole competition, leaving you with a profit of £138 ((100 – 31) x £2).

Say, instead, Player A loses the final and comes in 2nd place. That would give you a profit of £58 ((60 – 31) x £2).

Even if they lost in the semi-finals, you would still make a profit of £18 ((40 – 31) x £2).

However, if they went out in the quarter-finals, you would suffer a loss of £22 ((20 – 31) x £2). Or, if Player A went out in the last-16, you would incur a loss of £42 ((10 – 31) x £2). Worst of all, if Player A went out in the 1st round, you would lose £62 ((0 – 31) x £2).

SNOOKER SPREAD BETTING ‘SELL’ EXAMPLE

On the eve of the UK Championship at the Barbican Centre, you think the favourite’s chances have been overrated, so take a look at Spreadex’s Outright Index spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Player A Outright Index spread of 24-27. You decide to sell £2 at 24. Player A suffers a shock 1st round exit, leaving you with a profit of £48 ((24 – 0) x £2).

Even if Player A lost in the last-16, you would still come away with a profit of £28 ((24 – 10) x £2). Defeat in the quarter-finals, meanwhile, would bag you a small profit of £8 ((24 – 20) x £2).

However, if Player A went on to lose in the semi-finals, you would lose £36 ((24 – 40) x £2). If they were the runners-up, meanwhile, your losses would run to £72 ((24 – 60) x £2).

SNOOKER SUPREMACY BETS

Frame Supremacy: A prediction of the margin of victory, in frames, of one player over another.

For example, Spreadex is offering a Player A/Player B Frame Supremacy spread of 2-2.4. If you think Player A will win by more than 2 frames, you would buy. If you think Player A would win by less than 2 frames, or lose the match, you would sell.

10-3 Match Supremacy: The winning margin of one player over the other player, based on 10 points being awarded for the win and three points for each frame won by.

Points Supremacy: A prediction of the margin of victory, in points, of one player over another.

SNOOKER FRAME AND INDEX BETS

Total Frames: This is the total number of frames in a game. Spreadex also offers Player Total Frames for each player in a match.

Multi Frames: This is the number of frames won by Player A multiplied by the number of frames won by Player B.

25-0 Index: This is an index spread for a specific match, where the winner gets 25 points and the loser gets 0 points.

SNOOKER POINTS BETS

Total Points: The total number of points scored in a match. Spreadex also offers Player and Frame Total Points spreads.

Frame Multi Points: The number points scored by Player A in a named Frame multiplied by the number of points scored by Player B in a named Frame.

50 Up: The combined total of points scored above 50 in breaks by players in a match.

Ton Ups: The combined total of points scored above 100 in breaks by players in a match.

Ton or Bust: This is the aggregate of all breaks over 100 in a match. If a player breaks with a 120 then that contributed 120 to the market, but a checkout of 80 does not contribute anything to the market.

Highest Match Break: The highest break by either player in a particular match.
