HOW TO PLACE A UFC SPREAD BET

To place a UFC spread bet, look at the Spreadex prediction or spread on the market in question.

If you think the outcome will be higher than our price, then you would buy on the spread.

If you think the outcome will be lower than our price, then you would sell on the spread.

The more right you are the more you can win, but the opposite is the case if you get it wrong, as you may lose more than your initial stake.

UFC SPREAD BETTING ‘BUY’ EXAMPLE

It’s fight night at the Octagon, and you think the underdog has a chance, so take a look at Spreadex’s 50-25-10 Index spread betting market. That’s where it is 50 points for a knockout, technical knockout, opponent’s disqualification or submission, 25 for a points or technical decision, and 10 points for a draw.

Spreadex is offering a Fighter A 50-25-10 Index spread of 11-14. You decide to buy £10 at 14. Fighter A pulls off a major knockout victory, leaving you with a profit of £360 ((50 – 14) x £10).

Say, instead, the fight goes to a points decision, and Fighter A comes out on top. That would leave you with a profit of £110 ((25 – 14) x £10).

However, if the fight was a draw, you would lose £40 ((10 – 14) x £10). Or, if Fighter A was defeated, you would suffer a loss of £140 ((0 – 14) x £10).

UFC SPREAD BETTING ‘SELL’ EXAMPLE

Going into the latest UFC card, you think the favourite is looking a bit too big for their boots, so take a look at Spreadex’s 50-25-10 Index spread betting market.

Spreadex is offering a Fighter A 50-25-10 Index spread of 30-33. You sell £10 at 30. Fighter A ends up losing the fight, making you a profit of £300 ((30 – 0) x £10.

Say the fight is drawn, you would come away with a profit of £200 ((30 – 10) x £10. Even a points win for Fighter A would leave you with a profit of £50 ((30 – 25) x £10).

However, a victory for Fighter A would cause you to suffer a loss of £200 ((30 – 50) x £10).

UFC SUPREMACY AND INDEX BETS

10-3 Supremacy: The winning margin of one fighter over another fighter, based on 10 points being awarded for the win and 3 points for each round won by. In a 5-round contest the maximum make-up is 25 ((10 + (5x3) = 25). Note, that this can have a negative make-up.

For example, Spreadex is offering a Fighter A/Fighter B 10-3 Supremacy spread of 5-8. If you think Fighter A will win, you would buy at 8. If you think Fighter A will lose, you would sell at 5.

50-25-10 Index: This is a prediction of how many points a fighter will score, based on 50 points for winning by knockout, technical knockout or through their opponent’s disqualification or submission; 25 points for winning on points or a technical decision; and 10 points for a draw. The loser, of course, gets a big fat 0.

Fight Minutes: This is, rather simply, the number of minute for which the fight lasts.

You may opt to buy on the spread if you think the fight will go the distance, or sell on the spread if you think it will all be over very quickly!
